Terms of Service
MakerSpark by arandoo, Inc. · Last updated: 2026-09-07
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") before using MakerSpark. They are an agreement between you and MakerSpark by arandoo, Inc. ("MakerSpark", "we", "us", "our"), and they cover the MakerSpark member app, the member area at members.makerspark.io and this website (together, the "Services").
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using any part of the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and we tell you in the app or by email when a change materially affects your rights. Continuing to use the Services after that is your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. What MakerSpark is
MakerSpark is a learning platform for craft studios. A studio publishes its courses here, and you use the app and the member area to watch or read the lessons, take notes, download materials, ask the in-lesson helper, request a critique of a photo of your work, take part in the community, and earn a certificate when you finish. Everything we provide is digital. No physical goods are sold or shipped through MakerSpark.
Courses may be updated, extended or reorganised while you have access to them. We may add, change or retire features of the Services.
3. Your studio, and who you bought from
Access to a course comes from the studio that publishes it. Your purchase contract, its price, its billing cycle and its refund policy are with that studio and are governed by that studio's own terms, on that studio's own checkout. MakerSpark operates the platform they teach on.
For courses from MakeDesignerBags, that means the terms at makedesignerbags.com/terms-of-service. Questions about a charge, a subscription or a refund go to the studio you bought from. If you are not sure who that is, write to [email protected] and we will point you to the right place.
Payments, where we process them on a studio's behalf, run through Stripe or PayPal. Recurring memberships continue to bill until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time before the next renewal date to stop further charges.
4. Eligibility and your account
You must have reached the age of majority where you live, or have your parent's or guardian's consent. Give accurate account information and keep it current.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share your sign-in credentials, and do not use anyone else's account. Tell us at [email protected] as soon as you suspect unauthorised access.
5. Course content and intellectual property
Course videos, lesson texts, patterns, charts, downloads, images and the Services themselves belong to arandoo, Inc. or to the studio that published them, and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You get a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use them for your own learning. You may not copy, redistribute, publish, resell, screen record, share your access with a group, or create derivative works from them without written permission. Doing so can end your access without refund.
What you post stays yours. By posting a photo, a project or a comment in the community you give us the licence we need to show it to the other members of that community and to operate and back up the Services. Delete your post and that use stops.
6. Community rules
By taking part in the community you agree to:
- treat members and instructors with courtesy;
- post nothing harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful or discriminatory;
- never share another member's personal information, photos or direct messages without their consent;
- keep advertising, self-promotion and solicitation out of the community;
- keep the discussion to making, learning and sharing your work.
We may remove content or suspend access when these rules are broken. Reports go to [email protected] or through the report control in the app.
7. The in-lesson helper and photo critique
The helper and photo critique are automated and produced by an AI model. They are a study aid, not a guarantee: an answer can be incomplete or wrong, and it does not replace the lesson, your own judgement, or professional advice. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your tools and materials, and take the usual safety precautions when you work with blades, machines, glues and heat. Do not send anything through the helper that you would not want stored with your account.
8. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the Services, circumvent access controls or usage limits, upload malware, or use the Services to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
9. Ending your account
You may delete your account at any time at members.makerspark.io/account-deletion. Deleting your MakerSpark account does not by itself cancel a subscription you bought from a studio: cancel that with the studio, or ask us and we will help.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or act in a way that harms other members or the Services. Where the circumstances allow it, we tell you why first.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Services and their content are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. arandoo, Inc. makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law permits, arandoo, Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the Services. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as that jurisdiction permits.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MakerSpark by arandoo, Inc., its affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents against claims, losses, damages and legal fees arising from your use of the Services or your breach of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the federal and state courts located in Massachusetts, USA. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, that right is not taken away by this clause.
13. Severability and entire agreement
If a provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
